Health and safety policy and protocols

for attendees of Kōwhai Fan fest

Attendees who breach our costume and prop policy will be asked to leave the event. Volunteers on door entry will deny any attendee entry if these policies are breached. This includes all volunteers, performers, presenters, and exhibitors. For more information on what attendees can and cannot wear and bring, please refer to our FAQ section on owebsite.

Children under the age of 14 must be accompanied by an adult.

First aid kits are located on each floor. Attendees should alert volunteers immediately if there is an accident that requires medical attention. First aid trained volunteers will provide medical attention, library staff who are first aiders may be alerted. AED is located on the ground floor.

In the event of an earthquake, drop, cover and hold.

If there is a need to evacuate the building, follow the instructions of MC or library staff to proceed to the nearest safe exit and to the muster point (Library Plaza, outside Novotel, 52 Cathedral Square). Do not attempt to walk down the central stairway.

If a lockdown instruction is given, the building will be locked and no one may enter or exit the building until Police notify the Council to do so. Follow the instructions of library staff at all times.

There will be two security guards onsite, supplied by CCC. These guards will complete regular checks of each Floor and the exterior of the building. Please notify volunteers if you have any concerns that may need to be actioned by a guard.

Attendees are not to lean or climb on balcony ledges in case of fall or injury, breach of this may result in being asked to leave the balcony or event.

Smoking and alcohol consumption is prohibited inside the event and on balconies. Smokers are advised to go outside of the building to smoke. Intoxicated attendees will be refused entry.

Attendees are not to interfere with venue equipment.
