Cosplay Competition
Kōwhai Fan Fest is a holding a cosplay competition with the judging and winners announced on the day of the event, Saturday March 27. Get your entry in before 11.59pm, Friday March 19.

- Anyone can enter the competition.
- This contest is for individuals. Groups will not be accepted.
- Your costume can consist of armour, fabric, props, wigs and makeup but must align with our cosplay policy. Each costume will be judged based on its own merits and construction.
- Contestants will be judged on their craftsmanship. At least 90% of the costume needs to be made by the contestant.
- Each contestant will submit a small construction diary as part of their entry. This will consist of 3-4 photos of the elements the contestant is most proud of. A couple of sentences under each photo will help judges see the process behind your work. This will be read by the judges before the interview.
Procedure
- You can enter anytime before March 19 via this form.
- For those who have entered, your construction diaries need to be sent to our email by 11.59pm, March 19. You can use this template.
- Judging will commence on the day of the event. You will be allocated a time to meet with the judges, to talk through your construction. This time will be sent to you via email.
- Winners and prizes will be announced on the main stage at 2.20pm on March 27.

Violetta

Violetta is a cosplayer from the Christchurch cosplay scene and has entered the Armageddon Cosplay Competition numerous times. She is a Worbla Ambassador and well-known for her armour builds.

Emma

Emma is a veteran of the Christchurch cosplay community, known for her incredibly constructed cosplays, including armour, props, accessories and garments.

Te Aroha

Te Aroha is a J-fashionista, crafter and cosplayer. She entered and won Christchurch Armageddon's Cosplay Competition in 2017, along with the national title.
